Rachel & Sam Engagement

River Common, Wilkes-Barre, PA

Did any of you see that adorable video on the news of the guy who asked his girlfriend to marry him by having her Peloton instructor ask her to turn around during a class as he proposed? Well it just so happens that that couple is Rachel and Sam!

We can’t say enough about how much we loved working with Rachel and Sam! This fun, energetic, and passionate couple made the fact that it felt like 100 degrees in the middle of July seem like only a minor inconvenience. We are so happy to have discovered River Common in Wilkes-Barre. This quaint area has so much to offer and is a photographers dream when it comes to the variety you can find in such a small location.

From the moment that these two showed up to the shoot to the moment they left to head home they brought nothing but positivity and joy. It was so hot out that we had take a few AC breaks in our cars but we persevered.

Our first location was in front of the blooming hydrangeas and Rachel and Sam just popped off the background. It only took them a couple shots to get comfortable in front of the camera and they trusted me as I gave them direction and started to work them through our core poses. I loved that Sam was really into making sure that he got each pose correct. It is such a pleasure to work with a groom who wants to get it right! Rachel followed suit and quickly soaked up Sam’s energy and they both were on a roll. Rachel’s beautiful smile and Sam’s killer model face perfectly played off of each other and you can tell without a shadow of a doubt that these two were meant to be together.

After a quick AC break in the car and a few more locations we took a short trip to pick up their two pups, Millicent and Lewis and ran down the street to capture some incredible shots of the entire family! Those dogs were full of energy and made for excellent models.

After dropping off the pups we rushed back downtown in hopes of catching that perfect sunset glow. It wasn’t a short walk, but we made it to the beautiful bridge just in time to capture some epic photos of them with their signature Mr. and Mrs wine glasses and some stunning shots on the bridge.

We wrapped up the shoot with a great discussion about their honeymoon options as we reminisced about our own honeymoon.

We can not wait to photograph this beautiful couple on their wedding day!
